In 1995, Tom and I, Debra, felt a calling by our Lord Jesus to help orphaned children. We started adopting in 1995 and our family has grown from four children to 25 children and 9 grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.   In February of 2007 we added Laila Renee', Emmanuella Jean, Tabitha Marie and Helena Nicole to our family! We will be adding new pictures to our site soon~ Keep checking back! 

As only 3 of our children have been blessed by the good Lord with a marriage and children so far, we look so forward to many many more grandchildren!

Our family represents 3 third world countries and the United States. We have been blessed by God so many times in our walk with Him. He has been faithful to our family even when others have thought things were impossible. We stay close to the Lord and His written word.

We follow His Word which tells us in Deuteronomy 6:7 "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."  Therefore, all of our children are homeschooled. It is such a blessing to get to spend our days home with our children teaching them things we WANT them to learn!

One prime focus in our home is redeeming our time. We are firm believers that if our time is not spent wisely, then sin will take every opportunity to present itself.

"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil" Ephesians 5:15-16

We live on a 60 acre farm in a small Northeastern Missouri town called Curryville. We are surrounded by God's beauty! Our longing to be closer to the Lord's beautiful creations and raise our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the country, brought us here. Our family owns and operates a small State licensed kennel. We raise all of our own puppies and have raised most of our adults too! We are involved in every aspect of our business from assisting with the births, choosing food and medicines, grooming and doing the clean up to playing with the moms, dads and babies. Everyone in our family helps make our farm unique in many ways. Our puppies are very socialized and outgoing. The children own the moms and dads and love "their" babies from birth until the day your family takes over! We are very close to our vet, always asking for and using his advice and assistance in every aspect of our program. Our mission is to find the best families for our puppies. We loved them first!!! They go straight from our loving arms to yours, never going to pet stores or puppy brokers.

We are a loving family that owns, responsibly breeds, trains and shows our dogs. We are not a puppy mill. We very firmly advocate against such places where animals are kept in unsanitary, often unsafe conditions and used only as tools for profit. We love our dogs and they are our pets, every one of them!

The good Lord blessed us also this year with the opportunity to become the proud owners of a 1906 hotel located in Vandalia, MO about 10 minutes from our home. We have spent the summer renovating and refurbishing the antique building and converting it to a cozy bed and breakfast. The Grand Vandalia Hotel Bed and Breakfast also features the Lighthouse Cafe' and Meme's tearoom. This project has been a wonderful adventure for our family and has given us the chance to meet many new and wonderful friends as well as learn a LOT about another business avenue! We invite all of our friends, family and customers to join us for a meal.....and anyone else who would like to enjoy our fellowship and hospitality.

       In May of 2005, our son Joshua Thomas approached a lovely young Christian girl's father to ask permission to court his daughter with the intention of marriage. After a rigorous 8 week interrogation and examination of Joshua's character, doctrinal knowledge and heart, this father approached his daughter.

On July 2, 2005 she said yes! 

On February 12, 2006, our son Joshua asked Kathryn to marry him.....she said YES again!!! 

                          On June 23rd, 2007, they were united as one in front of their family, friends and the good Lord above.

                                               What a blessing for us all!!

Joshua and Kathryn are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl.
